  1. I am trying to decide betwixt 2 seperate kits. They seem to be very identical but I want to ostend and meet if anyone has whatever experience with these kits.

Cabela's kit is $189 and it doesn't come with any dies
    click hither

Kempf's kit is $177 and comes WITH the Lee deluxe dice kit (9mm).
I do notice that the kempf kit does not have the Pro Auto-Disc Powder Measure out merely you tin upgrade it for $14.

The kempf kit also does non come with the The Lee Prophylactic Scale. It seems similar y'all would need a scale.

    Am I missing anything else?

  2. Don't get the Lee scale considering it's very hard and confusing to read. Spend more and get a rcbs 505, hornady or dillon. Likewise practise upgrade on the pulverisation measure.
  3. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=337524&highlight=Classic+Cast is a link to an older, shorter, list congenital around the Classic Cast Turret package. Be sure to follow the link in my post there to some other listing and discussion.

Read those, build your list, and mail it hither, with any questions, we'll be happy to help you sort it out.

For starters--I become along fine with the Lee scale, merely I do call back others like the RCBS 505 are superior in construction.

  4. Kempf's for the win , I bought my stuff at Grafs and they sold me the Lee scale , I quickly replaced it with a used 505 off of due east-bay , when a buddy prepare to reload I gave it to him he very quickly replaced information technology with a electronic scale and it's getting passed on to another buddy equally soon equally he starts collecting stuff
  5. Every bit others stated, I'd opt for the Kemp's bargain...by all ways, upgrade to the Pro AutoDisk and do yourself a favor by passing on the Lee Scale.
  6. Message editied...had a encephalon [e-mail protected] and misidentfied my own darn reloading press - LOL

Lee does non market a "kit" for their Classic 4-pigsty Turret. You lot merely buy the accessories you want.

  7. I but checked the link to the Cabela offer, RandyP, and it does show a Classic Bandage Turret Press.

Looking closer, though, I think the Kempf packet does Not accept both Safety Prime primer heads, only the ane relevant to the die ready you order. That's OK to offset out, I judge.

Both do show the measure riser, then at least that fiddling issue is covered. The palatial version of either measure out. (plated base) is preferable--and, of course, I would definitely add together in an ACB / Adjustable Charge Bar.

Personally, I'd exist inclined to order from Kempf's, but Cabela's might have a current coupon that makes the costs like.

Some other source to consider is Graf'south--but their 'shipping included' pricing tends to slightly work against a multiple-detail guild like this.

    Jim H.

  8. You are right. For a $22 upgrade you tin get both safety primes and the pro motorcar disk measure.

  9. I honey my LCT, it tin can't be beat for toll vs functionality. As Rusty mentioned Cabela's kit has both Prophylactic Prime primer dispensers, but Cabela's besides included the SWIVEL for the pro auto disk. I bought the kit from Cabela's over a year ago and accept been happy with it. I was unaware of Kempf's at the time. From reading over the posts, it looks like a neck and cervix race between the 2 kits. I think the only additional item I needed was a caliper which I bought from Harbor Freight. I don't accept a problem with the Lee scales -- they just a little while to effigy out... They volition definately suffice if yous make up one's mind to go with the Cabela's kit. I haven't seen the need to upgrade still.
  10. When I bought my LCT from Kempf, Sue knew enough to add the swivel. (I ordered over the phone.) Then I was good to get. Under_dawg'southward comment on the calipers is a good one. I take also purchased a case estimate for each quotient. Some like them others don't see the need. And I agree with him about the Lee Scale. I've been using mine for 15 months and and content with how it works. Information technology is more authentic than I am.

I got the kemphs kit with the auto disc pulverization measure. I as well got a separate digital scale from ebay to double check the auto disc and the single pulverisation measures that come with a die kit. I like it. I am upwardly to four die sets now and am well-nigh to get the double disk kit to throw burglarize powder.
  12. I use Kemph's for all my Lee purchases, good people, bully customer service, fair aircraft. Continue the small guy going. And best of all, they usually have what I need in stock. I oasis't had to await in one case for dies/accessories.

    John

  13. Go with the Kempf'due south kit and buy a RCBS 5-0-5 scale and a caliper
  14. I find the Lee beam scale to exist very accurate, simply it is 'fiddly' to use. I confess I primarily now utilise my MTM DS-1250 $30 digital for nigh pulverisation charge verifying chores.

One time dialed in, the adjustable charge bar works great IMHO and stays acceptably constant in powder throws. (+/- .01 gr)

  15. thanks for everyone's aid. I ordered from kempf and as well got a tumbler.

I got the kit, a tumbler, dies and a book for about the price of just the kit & dies at cabelas.

I'm gonna caput to harbor freight and get a scale and calipers.

  16. Be certain the scale yous get measures in GRAINS, not just grams, and professes accurateness of +/- .01 grains. Many of the digitals practice not and so caveat emptor.

Not trying to turn this into a scale debate, but I accept had manner improve success with my Lee Scale then with a budget digi. The budget digi is slower, and is very sensitive when the battery is not at full charge.

I take to calibrate my Lee every fourth dimension, simply I know it is rubber, and very accurate. I condom cemented the Lee to a 2x4, then screwed the 2x4 into the shelf. It never moves, and is always at the aforementioned angle. I take loaded my nigh accurate ammo using this calibration. If this helps.?

  18. Reloading powder scales designed for the weighing of powder have a tolerence of +/-.1 grain (i/x). Not .01 grain (1/100)...
  19. You are quite correct Bushmaster, my typo bad. I meant tenths of a grain.

Goes to show why you should likewise never trust any reload data somebody types -lol

  20. Stay away from the H/F calibration bad jo-jo , pick up a used RCBS 505
  21. No problem RandyP. That'due south why we have "checks and balances" on here...
  22. After deliberation I went with Kempf's, with 9mm dies. I have been happy every bit a clam. For 9mm I don't weight every accuse, I let the powder measure do it. Almost others practice this as well. I practice have a scale now, but went without it for awhile. I however don't weigh 9mm charges, I bought it to reload rifle cartridges, and to check most max loads for .357. Other than that I have no upgrades to the Kempf setup and reload 9mm at nearly 150 rounds/hr. Had no trouble in 5000 rounds or then.
  23. you cant go wrong with Kempf, they are proficient people over there. I ordered my press from them and am in the process of ordering another turret/die setup, and some ammo storage boxes. I would get as far as saying I would readily spend a piddling more than to buy there vs any of the large box places to assistance support the pocket-size buisiness. I make the wife shop at a locally endemic grocery store vs walmart for our groceries. Nosotros could save about xx-xxx bucks if nosotros bought the exact same stuff at walmart, but I refuse. With the pocket-sized company, you deal with the owner, not some yuppie in customer service.
